2012 BMW 5-SERIES HYBRID
It is no secret that BMW is preparing a hybrid version of its latest generation of [F10] 5-series sedan as the Bavarian automaker picked the model at the Geneva Motor Show 2010 to study with the 5 Series ActiveHybrid Concept. And although the prototype model seen in our latest spy pictures with 535i badge, the "Hybrid Test Vehicle" label on the boat pretty much explains everything.

As a test mule, the prototype does not feature one of the (few) unique style elements of the concept model, as the LED strips, different front bumper and special alloy wheels, but we take these details will make the production car.

Working under the body, we expect a similar setup, the concept vehicle, the use of inline six-cylinder BMW petrol engine with twin power turbo technology (as found in the 535i) to see made an eight-speed automatic transmission, and an electric drive can deliver up to 54 hp (40kW). Since the 3.0-liter turbo in the U.S. is rated at 300 hp, the combined output should be around the 340 hp mark.
